If you’re looking to learn more about Gail Hackelberg’s foot care journey, you’ve come to the right place. Gail is the heart and hands behind Firm Foundation Foot Care. A registered nurse and nationally certified foot care specialist through the American Foot Care Nurses Association, Gail brings both clinical skill and heartfelt compassion to every visit.

Raised on the coast of Maine, Gail developed a strong work ethic and a deep love for helping others early in life. Before entering nursing, she worked as a commercial diver—a unique and demanding career that shaped her resilience, attention to detail, and dedication to health and safety.

Her passion for elder care began in her teenage years, when her grandmother asked her to trim her toenails—something no one else in the family was willing to do. From that small act of kindness grew a lifelong calling to care for the overlooked and underserved.

Years later, as her parents aged, Gail became their full-time caregiver. She witnessed firsthand how essential proper foot care was to their safety, comfort, and quality of life. That experience inspired her to launch Firm Foundation Foot Care and offer mobile foot care services to those who need it most—especially seniors, individuals with disabilities, and people living with chronic health conditions.
